But I am trying to develop a new class for you beginners that need to get back in the game but need to start slow. This class will push you still but it will be full of people more on your level. We will work on getting you to the next level which would be the normal classes. I think after 3 months most people will be ready. But what I see alot of times is that the normal class can be to fast at first and it can be discouraging and people often tend to quit. So I want to help you get the confidence and results you need to be ready to jump in the normal classes.

If you are unsure if you qualify for the newbie class here are some questions to ask yourself.

Do you have 50 pounds or more to lose?

Have you worked out regularly in the past 6 months?

Are you new to exercise/ weights?

Are you intimidated to workout in big groups with different people in them each day?

If you answered yes to 1 or more of these questions, then you may be a good fit. The best thing to do from this point is to get in touch with me and we can discuss what your looking for and I will put you where you need to be. Please don’t hesitate to contact me about this new program. To see days, times, location and cost go to the the TIMES/LOCATIONS tab a the top of the home page.

My name is Angie Kilonzo, 32 years old, wife, and a mother of 4 great kids!
A friend of mine Chelsea invited me to come try Bootcamp back in July 2012. I was a little scared to try something that was called “Bootcamp”.

Up to this point I had been struggling with my weight my whole life.I tried everything out there: diet, exercise, diet pills, and even starving my self. My first day of bootcamp was very intimidating and I was worried what people would think of me. I thought these people are going to think I was in the wrong class. I was so wrong!

The first work out Chelsea was right there with me the whole time, doing the work out at my pace. This was a huge relief! My first work out was very intense, we did burpees and squat thrusts. I was pretty sure I was going to kill over and die, ha! The next day I was so sore! Walking up the stairs seemed impossible and I thought it would hurt less if someone would just push me down the stairs rather then walk down them, ha ha. After that day I decided to give it another try and it was a huge eye opener. I thought if my body hurts this bad, I need this that much more.

After many years of trying different things to get in shape, bootcamp clicked for me. The people at bootcamp were so encouraging and supportive. Even though I was not at the same fitness level as others, Cory helped by showing me ways to modify each workout at my fitness level. As time went by I started noticing huge changes on how I looked and how I felt. This empowered me and gave me a new since of strength. The words, ” don’t stop, the option is to not stop” are always in my mind. Eight months later, I haven’t stopped and I will keep going.

So far I have lost 45lbs and 28 inches off my body. Also, I went from 47% body fat to 38% body fat and have taken off 35 years from my metabolic age!

Through bootcamp I have discovered a new passion of running and I have been able to run 8 miles! This seemed impossible at the beginning, I could hardly run for 5 minutes
without stopping. From bootcamp I have learned a lot about myself and it has made a stronger person in every sense of the word. I am thankful that bootcamp is now apart of my vocabulary!

You know the place where about 75% of the clients pay to use the treadmill and or ellipical machine. If people truly knew my heart they would maybe understand me more. I love my job, I love the challenge. I mean I truly do. I will also be the first to tell you that I am not the best trainer in the world. I am not the best trainer in Kansas. Heck I might not be the best trainer in Gardner. Its not about being the best its about helping you. I know that I out work people and I care and I am always trying to do my best to help people. I dont think if you asked any of my long clients that they would tell you any different. I am a man of God and I try to live by this scripture as much as I can: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” Colossians 3:23

But I am always reflecting on how I can get better and make my classes funner, different and more challenging. And keep in mind while doing that, make it appeal to the beginner and the super fit people. It pretty challenging at times…but like I said, I like a challenge. I do things alot different than my competitors. I dont do contracts, I go 5 days a week, I have 5 classes a day and sometimes offer weekend classes. I allow people to pay cash/check or auto debit payment. I call, email and text ya when I dont see ya. Its amazing to me that people trust me with there health, fitness and in a few cases….possibly there life. I have been in business now for 2 going on 3 years. It seems like 10 years though…haha. They say that the 5 year mark is the year for small business. Most dont make it 5 years by statics. Kinda scary.

In my 2 years I have trained over 800 people. How crazy is that? I sure cant. Incredible!

But in my almost 3 years I have came to realize alot of stuff. I was talking with a few clients today and it got my brain thinking. It actually made me proud but also hurt my heart as well. I have mainly women as clients so I tend to get there perspective. I am also married to a women so I see if first hand as well. I have people tell me that they want a 6 pack all the time. Obtaining a 6 pack is one of the most difficult things in the world to get for most people. But we see it on every magazine cover and many fitness professional have sold out to the money and come out with things like “6 pack in 6 days” type programs to suck people in. I guarantee I could make a DVD right now and name it “6 pack done easy” or something like that and I could sell the crap out of it. It can be tempting. I hope that I dont slip up and sell out. Most of the trainers, actors and your famous people that are on the covers of magazines are photo shopped. Almost everyone….I say that tongue in cheek. I would honestly argue that all of them are airbrushed and made to look super human.

I think that alot of people beat themselves up and feel like they can never look as good as Mark Wahlburg or Jennifer Aniston. I find myself at times getting kinda crazy obsessive with my body. There is nothing wrong with striving for perfection and pushing your body to the limits. But understand that there is so much that can play into that. Genetics, crazy strict diet and possibly years of hard work.

So what is on my heart today is give yourself some credit. If your working out on a regular basis and trying your best then give yourself a pat on the back. Stressing out will not help in losing weight, that’s for sure. That doesn’t mean go celebrate with cake and ice cream….LOL. See I know how you all think….haha. But seriously it is very important to keep your goals realistic for your lifestyle. Be a Planner!

If your a women reading this I want you to know that no matter what your told or think about yourself……you ARE beautiful and God loves you. I want you to know that you need to keep your head up and be proud of what you have done. Even if you have only lost 1 pound. At least your getting off your butt and trying. That is better than alot of other people out there. If you have had children they change your body. Some times not for the good. So remember that. Some people snap back faster and better than others. Set your own realistic goals and celebrate the accomplishments. If you need help setting some realistic goals send me a message or call me. Try and get you husband or whoever on the same plan with you and express how you feel. Ask them for there support and help. Guys like to fix things and be apart of planning. So do your best to include him.

If your a man or husband, read what I just wrote to women and be proud of your wife. And lift her up and support her instead of being critical. Go out of your way to make her feel good. Go out of your way to watch the kids or workout with her. Learn her goals and celebrate them with her when she accomplishes them. Go shop for new clothes with her. If she is on a diet don’t make her cook 2 or 3 different meals because your too stubborn to change. I promise eating healthier and exercising more will not hurt you or your love life….wink wink,

I just want to do my best to lift everyone up. I have decided to live by Colossians 3:23 more and just do my best to be the best trainer that I know how to be. In my opinion I think that people get bogged down with life and give up on their goals and health. I have seen so many people fall subject to the next best thing and give up on boot camp and me. I hate to see them leave and most of the time it does not end well with the next best thing. Just like the 6 pack abs concept I mentioned above. NOT REALISTIC.

When it comes down to it, its like I said above. Have a realistic goal and give it time. I actually know people that smoke a pack a day and eat out at least once a day and drink several times a week. And they say they cant afford to workout. Craziness! If your going to come into boot camp and say how many pounds will I lose in 1 month….your not the in the right frame of mind. Remember time, commitment, planning and small and realistic goals.

I am so proud of my clients and the accomplishments they have obtained. I have truly seen lives changed and people make such drastic transformations that people did not recognize them. I am but a small part of that but still it feels good to know that I helped them. I am so lucky to have the clients that I do. I cant wait to see what the rest of the year has to come. I have so much planned and am working on alot of new programs, contest and of course the Holiday Banquet. I look forward to your feedback and let me know if I can help you in any way. Keep your head up and nose to the grindstone and DO YOUR BEST!

Before reading this I want to warn you that some of the content below might be offensive. It is not intended to call anyone out individually but more for you to read and evaluate. It may hit home and it may not. But read it and see. Pass it along to anyone that might need it.

But I just wanted to share this with you and see if it applied to any of you. I have no idea where it came from but this stuff just started flowing out of me. It must be a God thing or something. I have the best intentions with this email. I hope you don’t take it personally because I struggle with some of the same issues. So hear goes………..I recently challenged all my current boot camp clients to take a look in the mirror. To examine there lives. A complete Gut check….if you will. I am talking about the kind of look where you question everything in your life. Question your diet, question your hobbies, question your happiness. Basically be real with yourself.

You see its just my observation but to me most people are not really happy with there self and or there body. (I know I got a few areas I am working on) On Facebook we look like we got and we couldn’t be happier. But we all know that F.B is full of posers. Most people hate the way they look and feel. They want to look good and feel good. But they have no motivation or energy to go after it. Or they have ambition but no money to afford a boot camp class or gym membership but still drink, gamble and smoke. We as a society think that we are best off by getting our kids enrolled in as many activities as we can to the point where you the parent don’t have any time to yourself or you spouse. In between running all your kids to there games or practices we feed them Sonic, McDonald’s, and pump them full of Gatorade. ( I am fearful of the days when my kids start wanting to do all that and I have to tell them no or make these same decisions some of you face.) Some of those choices are not necessarily the best approach in my opinion. I by no means have all the answers…am not trying to come across as though I do. Again this is just my observation. We as a society like to use the “I’m really busy” excuse. And if your one of the moms or dads with the kid enrolled in 14 different things your right….you are too busy. But alot of times we just say that and think that so that we don’t have to workout or eat correctly and stay committed to anything unless it promise quick fixes and an easy process.

Now your probably thinking to yourself…..if you haven’t deleted this yet or sent me some hate mail…where is he going with this? Whats his point? My point is to look in the mirror. Are you happy? Are you healthy? Do you like the way you look? Do you like the way you feel? Do you have energy? How is your sex life? All of these things correlate with exercise and physical fitness. Statistics prove that working out and eating right for a consistent time frame can help with most or all of the above questions. I am not saying that you have to come to Legacy Fitness to achieve your goal. (But it is a pretty cool place…haha) But you can go to whatever gym or trainer that you want. Try Zumba, boot camp, yoga, swimming, or cycling. Point being try something. If you already in a boot camp like mine….then KILL it man. Go everyday…..work hard, push hard, and do that best that you can. I promise it wont hurt you. You gonna find out your pretty tough.

I know through several conversations with tons of people and clients in the past that some of you have just lost hope. You used to believe you could lose weight and you used to actually like to workout. But you have let yourself go to the point that its now really hard to even get up and get moving. Your scared to workout in a group for fear of judgement. You have just decided that you are who you are that and this good enough. But inside your crying for help. Your disgusted with yourself. If this is you, I want you to know that you can do it and I believe in you. You still have the ability to get your life and body back. I have seen it many times and know what it takes to do it. Now am I saying that its going to be easy…NO? Are you going to have to make some changes….. DEFIANTLY. Are you going to have to slow down a little bit and set aside some time for YOU? YEP…you are. Its a good thing. Your kids will love the new you…your new energy and confidence will make them happy. They will become you fans and want to help you.

So…….. I am challenging you to do something. I am challenging you to write down a goal that you want to accomplish in the next 10 days from reading this email, a goal for 1 month and a goal for 3 months and finally a 6 month goal.

Here could be an example:

10 day goal: get signed up in boot-camp, a personal trainer or gym membership

1 month goal: To lose 5 pounds, or to be eating a consistently better diet

3 month goal: 15 pounds lost, a certain number of inches lost, a certain pant/dress size

6 month goal: My goal weight reached, or half way to my goal, New wardrobe for Christmas, vacation with a new swimming suit

These may be bad examples but they may be right on. The Holidays are not far away and I know that is a rough stretch for most. Don’t wait until they are here to start moving and grooving. Start now so its easy to reach your goals. I know that every single person has it in them to do great things. I know that sounds like something a cheesy trainer says….but call me cheesy. I really believe it. And the feeling that you get when you start to see hard work pay off and the compliments start flowing are so great and so powerful. You all can have such a body and lifestyle if you open to a little good change and not afraid of a little hard work and sweat. So whatever you do….do not wait….call a gym, call me, call another trainer..get help and get started. Your life may depend on it…..WOOO!
